Wyoming Wide

My buddy Jory and I had big plans to find some big bucks to hunt. We started our scouting mid-July by just looking over different bucks that would be worth going back and looking for on future scouting trips planned in August. We had high hopes of finding a couple big, mature mule deer that we could pursue during the season but we knew it was going to be a tough task to achieve due to the bad winter we had a few years ago that took away a lot of age class. It took a lot of time and effort but we did end up finding the buck that would be in the back of our minds for most of the summer.
We started off the scouting season by going up to a spot we both knew pretty well and spent an evening scouting and camped up on the mountain so we could scout the next early morning. That evening we set up on our perch overlooking a big high country basin where we knew bucks would call home during the hot summer days. Right off the bat we found eight bucks all grouped up in the basin, with one good looking buck that stuck out from the others.
