As the dust begins to settle……reality is sinking in on the caliber of antelope I harvested. Reflecting on the hunt and how it fell into place after I failed to draw an elk tag, I am just in awe of how things happen for a reason.

Planning for hunts in Wyoming is one of my favorite things to do during the offseason. I work in a school in Iowa and planning out of state hunts is always tricky. Generally, I do not have a lot of time during the school year for out of state hunts. That being said, my plan for this year was to utilize my elk points and Special PP draw in hopes of drawing an elk tag.  After visiting with Adam Fackelman, my good friend from Douglas, WY, we decided on a unit where I had a good chance of drawing an elk tag. The excitement of an elk hunt was short lived when the elk draw results were posted, I did not draw! I made a quick call to Adam to discuss options for a plan B.
