It all started in March when I was talking to my cousin’s husband Tosh about what hunts we were putting in for.  He asked me how many elk points I had and I told him 14. He suggested I apply for the Manti Muzzleloader tag. “I’ll bet you draw.” 

I said I’d give it a shot and put in for it, not thinking twice about it. 

May 11th, sitting in a classroom before a lacrosse game, I got my draw results.  It was one of those days where you’re on autopilot while reading emails.  As I read “Successful” for archery deer I wasn’t surprised.  Then I read a limited entry elk. . . “Successful”.  It didn’t sink in for a minute and then it hit me like a train! I didn’t think I’d draw.
