I heard from someone a while back that if you find a piece of velvet, you should hang on to it for good luck.  We had no idea how true this would become that afternoon.

The day began well before daybreak, as we had plans of making it deep into a canyon before sunrise. For what seems to have become our new normal this season, numerous fellow hunters forced us to change our plans. We quickly came up with a plan B, and hauled butt for a location that has brought an abundance of success in the past.
