As all Arizona hunters know it is the luck of the draw to be picked for a hunting tag. I have annually submitted with my cousins for the past 18 years. Unfortunately, our group could not pull a hunting tag. We decided to put in applications individually in hopes of increasing our chances. I was rewarded with an early bull tag.  

Arizona had some above average winter rain showers that kept the national forest’s elk regions green. I was optimistic that elk herds would have adequate feed with the chance for all bulls to have trophy antlers.
