We started laying down the miles, crossing a few canyons and eventually running into a good size river. We had crossed this a few times during that spring and summer but with snow on the ground it’s a bit more of a mental challenge. At the crossing we told Earl, "Take off your shoes, socks and pants and we're crossing this in our underwear!" I’m not sure if he thought we were joking but I’m sure it got real when he saw me strip down and jump in. I thought this crossing might turn him around but around 10 degrees, snow on the ground and ice floating by, he followed right behind us and continued on towards the bull.
