In 2017, we will see few changes in Rocky Mountain goat management in Utah. There are couple new hunts this year for residents only. Mt. Dutton and a North Slope High Unitas archery hunt are on the docket for 2017. Mt. Dutton has had a struggling mountain goat herd for a few years now until 20 goats were captured from the Willard Peak area and relocated to bolster the Dutton herd in 2015. That augmentation was successful, resulting in the opportunity for this new hunt. Kudos to the Utah DWR for their hard work on transplanting.
