There are truly only a few real blue-chip mountain goat units in the lower 48 when you are considering Boone and Crockett scores. However, with that reference set aside, most of the goat hunts down here are on a similar playing field. Therefore, hunting goats in Idaho is like most anywhere else, tough, rugged and rare! If you have a hankering to pursue one of the most elite high mountain creatures on the planet, this is a great place to start. Draw odds are tough for sure, but Idaho offers as good of an opportunity as any, if not better. At the time of writing this, IDFG has not made any notable changes to the up and coming season and processes. Other than a new more substantial NONREFUNDABLE application fee, things are pretty much status quo in the Gem state.
