MRS: Colorado Elk

Last fall, 2017, was a mixed bag for elk hunters in Colorado. The huge snowpack kept things watered for months and antler growth should have been very good. Taxidermists I talked to were busy with a lot of deer, elk and antelope. Harvest success numbers are not in yet, but the dry, warm summer and fall that lasted into 4th season seems to have kept a lot of elk from their normal timing for migration and units that depend at least somewhat on migration often did not have great success.
