It’s that time again! September, what’s not to like? Sometimes it seems like it will never get here, and sometimes it gets here all too fast, before we have time to fully prepare. For me, this year is one of those. A sheep hunt for two weeks up North has put me a touch behind this year on my bow prep and shooting. Having drawn a very good elk tag near my Northern Wyoming home, I have the advantage of keeping my finger on the pulse of the local elk rut in person day by day. The spring was late, and summer has been somewhat cool and wet, so I fully expect an on time or maybe even a tough early rut this year. But really who knows, predicting those crazy elk can be a very tough and frustrating endeavor. Not to mention somewhat risky to your credibility with friends.
